Mac OS X's Finder annoyingly does not seem to have a GUI option to show/hide hidden files/folders in the file system. But it can be done through the terminal, easily enough:
To show hidden files:
defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles TRUE
To hide hidden files:
defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles TRUE
